Teknoloji ara\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n sahip oldu\u011fu ve etkile\u015fim olana\u011f\u0131 sa\u011flayan ses, g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fc vb. etkiler ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k e\u011filimini artt\u0131rabilmektedir (Griffiths, 1999). Teknoloji ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131 kapsam\u0131nda medya ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, televizyon ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, cep telefonu ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, bilgisayar ve internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131klar ele al\u0131nabilmektedir. \u00d6zellikle internetin ya\u015famdaki yerinin ve \u00f6neminin giderek artmas\u0131 nedeniyle, olu\u015fturdu\u011fu etkiler di\u011fer bilgi ve ileti\u015fim teknolojilerine oranla daha \u00e7ok \u00f6nem ta\u015f\u0131maktad\u0131r.Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 tan\u0131mlamak i\u00e7in DSM (American Psychiatric Association\u2019s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) kriterlerini kullanarak, DSM kapsam\u0131nda bulunan seks ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, patolojik kumar vb. di\u011fer davran\u0131\u015f ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131ndan da faydalanm\u0131\u015flard\u0131r (Thurlow &amp; di\u011ferleri, 2004). \u0130nternet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 genel olarak, internet ba\u015f\u0131nda uzun zaman ge\u00e7irme ve interneti kullanmay\u0131 kontrol edememe \u015feklinde ifade edilmektedir (Leung, 2004; Simkova &amp; Cincera, 2004; Yellowlees &amp; Marks, 2007). Ba\u015fka bir ifade ile internet kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131n ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k olarak ifade edilmesinde ve tan\u0131mlanmas\u0131nda en b\u00fcy\u00fck belirti ve etken, bireyin internet ba\u015f\u0131nda a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 zaman harcamas\u0131ndan meydana geldi\u011fi s\u00f6ylenebilir. Her madde kullan\u0131m\u0131nda ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k olu\u015fmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi her davran\u0131\u015fa kar\u015f\u0131 da ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k geli\u015ftirilmeyebilir. \u0130nternet kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131n olumsuz etkisi ya da bir ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k t\u00fcr\u00fc olarak kar\u015f\u0131m\u0131za \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131ndaki temel nedenlerden biri de<em> kullan\u0131m miktar\u0131<\/em> ya da <em>\u00e7evrimi\u00e7i<\/em> olarak harcanan zaman\u0131n miktar\u0131d\u0131r (Chou &amp; di\u011ferleri, 2005). \u0130nternet ba\u015f\u0131nda uzun zaman ge\u00e7irmek, internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n hem nedeni (Irwansyah, 2005) hem belirtisi hem de bir sonucu olarak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclebilir. \u0130nternet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, internet ba\u015f\u0131nda ge\u00e7irilen zaman\u0131n \u00f6nemli bir belirti olmas\u0131ndaki en b\u00fcy\u00fck etken ise, ara\u015ft\u0131rmalarda ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131 kullan\u0131c\u0131lar\u0131n haftal\u0131k ya da g\u00fcnl\u00fck internet kullan\u0131m s\u00fcrelerinin ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131 olmayan kullan\u0131c\u0131lardan dikkate de\u011fer bir oranda fazla olmas\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0130nternet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 ile ili\u015fkili oldu\u011fu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclen \u00f6nemli kavramlardan birinin bireyin sosyalle\u015fme ihtiyac\u0131 oldu\u011fu s\u00f6ylenebilir (Bayraktutan, 2005; Esen, 2007; Grohol, 1999). Bireyin internete sosyalle\u015fme ya da sosyal destek bulma ama\u00e7l\u0131 y\u00f6nelmesi internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 riskini tetiklemekte ve birey toplumdan uzakla\u015fabilmektedir.(Thatcher &amp; Goolam, 2005). Depresyonun, patolojik internet kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131n geli\u015fiminde \u00f6nemli bir etken oldu\u011fu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclmektedir (Bayraktar, 2001; Young &amp; Rodgers, 1998). Bununla birlikte internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131s\u0131 bireylerde depresyon hali saptanm\u0131\u015f ve depresyon ile internet ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 aras\u0131nda g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bir ili\u015fkinin oldu\u011fu belirtilmi\u015ftir. Ayn\u0131 zamanda ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131 bireylerin interneti kullanamad\u0131\u011f\u0131 zamanlarda depresyon halinin g\u00f6zlemlenmesi de m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr.
